Car and van repairs in Abergavenny

If your car or van has a fault, a warning light or a failed MOT, bring it to CT Tyres & Vehicle Repairs. Our qualified mechanics repair and service cars and light vans at our workshop at Upper Triley Farm, just outside Abergavenny.

MOT failure repairs

Failing an MOT is a pain when you rely on your car every day. Send us a photo of your failure sheet and we will price up each item on it. Once the work is done, your car is ready for its retest.

We don't carry out MOT tests on site. We work with a nearby test centre, so we can take your car for its MOT and handle any repairs in between.

Common MOT failure items we repair include:

Brakes, brake pipes and handbrakes

Tyres below the legal tread depth or with damage

Suspension parts and wheel bearings

Exhaust leaks and emissions faults

Warning lights on the dashboard

Gearbox stripped down during a repair at CT Tyres

Car and van servicing

Regular servicing keeps your vehicle reliable and helps catch small problems before they become expensive. We offer minor and major services for cars and light vans.

Minor service

Oil and filter change, fluid top ups and checks on the main safety items.

Major service

Everything in the minor service, plus more filters, a wider set of checks and the parts your manufacturer's schedule calls for.

What we repair

Qualified mechanics, proper diagnostic equipment, and a straight answer on what your vehicle needs.

Brake repairs

We carry out brake checks, pads, discs and full brake replacement, including brake pipe changes. Book a check if you notice any of these:

Squealing or grinding when you brake

The car pulling to one side under braking

A soft or spongy brake pedal

The brake warning light on

Suspension repairs

Knocks over bumps, uneven tyre wear or a car that wanders on the road can all point to worn suspension. We find the cause and replace springs, shock absorbers, arms and bushes as needed.

Exhaust repairs

A blowing or rattling exhaust is noisy and can fail an MOT on emissions. We repair and replace exhaust sections, brackets and mountings.

Wheel bearings

A humming or grinding noise that gets louder with speed is often a worn wheel bearing. We confirm the fault and replace the bearing.

Diagnostics and warning lights

An engine management light, ABS light or other dashboard warning means your vehicle has logged a fault. We plug in our diagnostic equipment, read the fault codes and find the actual cause, rather than just clearing the light.

Car electrical repairs

Flat batteries, charging faults, failed lights and wiring problems can be hard to pin down. We trace electrical faults and fix them.

Bodywork

Our workshop handles bodywork alongside mechanical repairs, so you don't need to take your car to two places.

Repairs you can rely on

Carreg and Lee are both qualified light vehicle mechanics. Most parts we fit come with a 12 month warranty, and our labour is guaranteed for three months.
